OSAAP - (Order of St Augustine in the Asia Pacific)

This organisation provides a forum for the Asian-Pacific leaders of the Order of St Augustine to meet and to plan for the development and the renewal of the Order in a region that includes India, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia..

The development of the Order includes examining new countries where our charism and spirituality may find a home and may benefit the Church and the people of that nation.

An OSAAP meeting took place in September 2006 at Edacochin, India. In the photo above can be seen the Augustinian leaders of Japan, India, Korea, the Philippines and Australia. In the centre is the Augustinian Prior General from Rome.

As well as providing such a forum the organisation will cooperate with the Augustinian Spirituality Institute in providing a conference for those nearing final vows on Augustinian spirituality.

The first such conference was held during August 2005 in Cebu, Philippines, and the second occurred at Edacochin, India in September 2006.

Another OSAAP meeting took place late in October 2008, near Manila, Philippines. The subsequent meeting is scheduled for Sydney, Australia in the final days of September 2009.
