AUGUSTINIAN BULLETIN BOARD - April 2000
Walk securely in Christ without anxiety
Christ became the way for us, and do we despair of arriving? This
way cannot be closed down, cannot be cut, cannot be broken up by rain
or floods, nor blocked by bandits. Walk securely in Christ without anxiety;
walk. Don't stumble, don't fall, don't look back, don't stick on the
road, don't wander away from the road. Only beware of all these things,
and you have arrived.
When you arrive, then start boasting about it - but not in yourself.
I mean, those who praise themselves aren't praising God, but turning
away from God. Just as when you decide to move away from the fire, the
fire remains hot but you grow cold; just as when you decide to move
away from the light, as soon as you've done so the light remains bright
in itself, but you find yourself in the dark. Let us not move away from
the warmth of the Spirit, from the light of the Truth..
