We know by Faith
Set your feet firmly on the way, set them there, so that you don't leave the way, not so that you stick on the way, but as it is written, So run, that you may attain. Let Christ flourish always in your hearts, the Christ who wished to show in the head what the other members should hope for. We indeed are toiling away on earth; our head in heaven now neither dies, nor fails in any way, nor suffers anything at all. He did, all the same, suffer for us, because he was handed over on account of our sins, and rose again on account of our justification. We know this by faith, while those he showed himself to learned it by their eyes.

- A mid-Chapter of the Province will take place at Riverglenn
Conference Centre Indooroopilly, Brisbane from 2 July to 7 July. This
meeting reviews directions undertaken by the Augustinian Province
of Australia at the last Provincial Chapter (1998).
- We welcome Richard Pido osa (Provincial of the Cebu Province,
Philippines) who is visiting Australia so as to be a guest at the
mid-Chapter. Richard will also visit Holy Spirit Parish, St Clair
NSW which is entering into a twinning arrangement with one of the
Augustinian parishes in the Philippines - San Jose, Iloilo.
- Anthony Banks will accompany a group of Australian young adults
to the Augustinian youth festival in Rome (mid-July to mid-August).
- Centre for Augustinian Spirituality - Greystanes NSW
- will hold a How to Meditate 6 week Course Mondays: 7.30 pm
to 9.00 pm. Commencing 24th July 2000. Cost $60.00 (conc.
available). Affirming Who I Am! Adult Personal and Spiritual
Growth 6 week Course Tuesdays: 7.30 pm - 9.00 pm. Commencing 25th

- A Province youth festival will be held at Harrietville Victoria
in late June 2001.
- There will be a congress celebrating Augustinian Lay Spirituality
to be held in Echuca in April 2001.
- The Province will donate $15,000 towards one of the new windows
that form part of the Peace Window series at St Monica’s Cathedral
Cairns. The donation is made in honour of the many Augustinians who
have served in what is currently the diocese of Cairns.
- "Life with Augustine"...a course in his spirit
and guidance for daily living. This excellent programme compiled by
Edmond Maher is a self study adult education programme which provides
a means by which participants can come to know more about Augustine,
the times in which he lived, the Scriptures that taught him, the life
inspired by him and its relevance to us today.
