Holy Spirit Parish St Clair - 20th Anniversary celebrations

The new parochial district of St Clair was cut off from the parish of St Mary's on 1 October 1981. The new parish priest, Fr Brian Rooney celebrated the initial Sunday Mass at 9.30am on 4 October 1981 in the meeting room of St Mary's parish.

Fr Rooney joined the parish at its Eucharistic celebrations on Sunday 30 September. The Augustinian Provincial was represented by Fr Peter Jones osa. The theme for the parish celebrations is "unity in diversity". This theme was evident after the Mass in a celebration brunch of the various foods from the many national heritages in the parish community.

Congratulations to our new affiliates John and Deidre O'Brien

Congratulations to John and Deidre O'Brien who have been affiliated to the Augustinian Order. Affiliation is something that the Order bestows on people who have had a long standing relationship to the Order and have been supportive of the spirituality and ministry of the Order in outstanding ways. Affiliates share in the spiritual graces of the Order's prayer and ministry in a special way. Fr Miguel Angel Orcasitas OSA, the previous Prior General of the Order, affiliated John and Deidre in June and the certificate of affiliation was presented to them by Fr Pat Fahey OSA, Australian Provincial, during a Mass at the Priory last week. This affiliation acknowledges John and Deidre's friendship with the Augustinians over many years and John's commitment in his role as a leader of an Augustinian ministry. In that role he has promoted energetically Augustinian spirituality and values.
