Welcome to the Augustinian website. My name is Tony Banks and I have the privilege of being the Provincial, the leader of the Order in Australia. We are a group of men working for Christ in a variety of ways. As a Religious Order we have been working in Australia since 1838. Alypius James Goold OSA, later Archbishop of Melbourne, pioneered a path that took the Order into Victoria, Queensland and later into New South Wales. Today we are represented in each of those states working in parishes, schools, hospitals, HIV/AIDS ministry and running a Spirituality Centre. Our Formation House is in Sydney, beside our Provincial Offices. We have four young men in studies in Australia, three more for 2008 and one student overseas. Our Province is also represented in South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. Over the next few years we trust that God will bless us with further vocations as we respond to his call for service in Australia. While our present ministries are a priority in our lives we also have placed renewed emphasis on social justice, on service of the Church in Asia-Pacific, and working with young people. World Youth Day in July 2008 will see us play host to young people associated with our Order from around the world. In the week after WYD we will host the Augustinian Youth Encounter at Collaroy, Sydney. I would also like to highlight an organisation devoted to the pursuit of Augustinian spirituality and its application for all members of the Church called Augustinian Friends. This wonderful group lead by our laity provides a forum for prayer, reflection and gatherings every second year. We welcome you into our pages; if you find something of interest contact us on (02) 9938 0200 or at osaadmin@bigpond.com.au. If you are interested in
